For the 2023 cruise collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri revealed in Seville, Peter Philips, creative and image director for Dior makeup, created a look that accentuated the eyes. He describes “a really intense smoky eye, where dark hues blend into the shade of wide-brimmed hats. It’s a strong and dramatic look on a luminous face.”

EYES

Peter Philips details intense and nocturnal eyes, “with dark, deep hues that stand out, even in the depths of the seville night.” He explains how he created a customized, elongated smoky eye, with effects adapted depending on each and every eye shape: “I carried out several steps, working first of all on the lash line of the upper eyelid with Diorshow 24h Stylo 091 matte black, then I applied the most intense black shade from the 5 couleurs couture 079 black bow palette across the eyelid, blending it in to the skin. After having created a halo effect, I added a touch of light on the upper part of the eyelid, without going beyond the brow bone, using the glittering anthracite eye shadow from the same palette. To finish, I coated the tips of the upper eyelashes with Diorshow Iconic Overcurl 090 black then tidied up eyebrows with Diorshow On Set Brow (in shades to suit each model).”

COMPLEXION

Peter Philips describes “a perfect and natural complexion achieved with the Capture Totale skincare routine, by applying Capture Totale Super Potent Serum and Capture Totale Super Potent Eye Serum for the eye area”.

Once the skin was prepped, I applied Dior backstage face & body primer 001 universal which blurs the complexion, followed by Dior backstage face & body foundation which provides perfect coverage that is also light, to suit each skin tone. As a finishing touch, in shades to suit each skin tone, I used Dior backstage face & body flash perfector concealer, followed lastly by a light dusting of Dior backstage face & body powder-no-powder.”
