DIOR AUTUMN-WINTER 2019-2020 RTW SHOW BACKSTAGE
Paris Fashion Week kicked-off with amazing shows, Dior’s catwalk presented at Musée Rodin was elegant and rebellious.
< For the Autumn-Winter 2019-2020 ready-to-wear collection, Peter Philips, creative and image director for Dior Make-up, designed a look that saw graphic, rock eyes take centre stage. “I was inspired by the sassy style of english teddy girls in the late 1950s, their avant-garde style, very londoner. the result is a very graphic and intense black eye, in a rock style reinterpreted with a bit of a punk feel.”
EYES
For this collection, Peter Philips designed a look that saw “dark and graphic eyes, with an upper eyelid covered entirely in black, using the waterproof eyeliner crayon in noir trinidad. then, with Diorshow on stage liner in matte black, i drew a series of short, straight lines, spaced out to create a “star” effect around the eyes. These lines were drawn to get a somewhat imperfect, rough finish. next, to accentuate this very black eye, I coated the lashes first inDiorshow Maximizer 3d and then curled them usingDiorshow Pump’n’Volume Mascara black pump. finally, I redefined the eyebrows, but kept them looking natural, with Diorshow Brow Styler.”
COMPLEXION
Peter Philips explains: “The complexion was pure and natural, adapted to each skin tone using the Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation line, followed by a few correcting touches of Diorskin Undercover Concealer. lastly, I dabbed on some Flash Luminizer to highlight the face.”
LIPS
“Very natural looking lips were prepared using Lip Sugar Scrub, then subtly heightened with Dior Addict Stellar Shine in mirage.”
NAILS
“Depending on the skin tone of each girl, nails were painted either beige with Dior Vernis wild earth or brown with Dior Vernis terra gold.”
HAIR
On models with long hair, Guido Palau styled a low ponytail tied in the neck, with a clear side-part. For those with short hair, their original haircuts are preserved.
