GET THE DIOR HAUTE COUTURE BEAUTY LOOK!

Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for DIOR MAKE-UP, creates a pure, luminous make-up that provides a soft match to the psychedelic inspiration of the DIOR Spring/Summer 2015 Haute Couture collection created by Raf Simons.

I wanted to create make-up that gives a sense of fluidity, clarity and appeasement. Like a calm moment, a pause in the midst of a collection that displays an inspirational mix, rich with colours and materials – Peter Philips explains.

EYES

‘The clarity of a face made up lightly, in a spirit of harmony and purity’. ‘The eyes are subtly shaded with the new Eye Reviver Backstage Pros palette. The eye shadow gradients let you world the upper eyelid  with nude shades that blend into the complexion. I chose to do an airy twist on a cut crease. The shape is neither too sharp nor too rounded. The line rises from the inner corner of the eyes then flares out gently towards the temple to open up the eyes’

‘The lashes are simply curled with Backstage Lash Curler and the eyebrows are also gently highlighted’. Peter Philips adds.

COMPLEXION

Worked with the new Dior Nude Air line: Dior Nude Air Serum de Teint foundation, Nude Air Powder and Nude Air Loose Powder. Touches of Dior Skinflash. ‘The complexion is all about make-up that is light and transparent’. ‘The cheekbones are highlighted in two steps: First illuminated with Starlight Diorblush then the Peach Splendor colour is applied to the apples of the cheeks’. Peter Philips explains.

LIPS

‘Lips are transparent and shiny thanks to Dior Lip Maximizer which gives the mouth volume. A very natural, plumped-up effect’

NAILS

‘Hands stay discreet with Dior Vernis Muguet, a soft pink’. First, Dior Base Coat Abricot, Dior Vernis and on top Dior Gel Coat

HAIR

Hair by Guido Palau draws inspiration from the 60s, very sophisticated and accessorized. The hair is pulled back, smooth and flat from the brow then puffed up and lacquered on the top of the head. Two metallic or bright-colour lacquered metal rings hold together the two parts of a low pony tail.
