Upon in Dorothy Draper’s first platinum gaze unto an interior, she goes beyond the limits of rules and traditions and offers a colourful, fabulous design. Intense colours and unusual accords infuse the atmosphere with an exuberant style, strong in contrasts and unexpected proportions, imposing on fabrics and laces… Alice invites herself into this singular interior and discovers the land of wonders.
Inspired by this intricate universe, Zuhair Murad narrates a contemporary and dynamic tale through the Pre-fall 2023 collection IN THE WONDERS, frolicking in rhythms of freedom and airiness.
Hearts emerge in transparency, in brilliance and in 3D, a nod to the Queen of Hearts. Dresses, short or long, are reimagined with bold and suggestive necklines, contoured bodices affixed with beautiful duchess satin bows and adorned with shimmering buttons.
Throughout trousers and jackets, velvet and macramé meld in silhouettes with a modern twist on contrasts. The symbols of playing cards run around the multi-cut twill while lightness is instilled in the finely embroidered tulle gowns, revealing the sensual curves. Sparkling silk organza, decorated with opulent pink accessories, is dispersed on gowns, magnifying glamour and seduction.
The sumptuous colour palette swells with shades of carmine or vermilion, apple green or emerald, then revisits cornflower and bluebells before mellowing in lavender and wild rose. Black and saffron cavort on the silk charmeuse while silver and golden sequins frolic into precious pieces.
