ZUHAIR MURAD ~ SPRING 2021
For the Spring Summer 2021 collection, the Zuhair Murad bride embarks on a journey across the most breathtaking flower fields around the world.
She starts her voyage with the Keukenhof Gardens, where carnations and tulips inspire patterns of delicate embroideries, scattered around a corset princess gown, and enhanced with a graceful taffeta bow. Her next stop halts the Hitachi Seaside Park, where she picks up blooming flowers, baby blue-eyes, zinnia and Kochia florets, and spreads them on her low cleavage ball gown. She then stops by the Fuji Shibazakura Flower Festival, and walks down a natural pink carpet of moss – showering it around a sheath dress, whilst mimicking each curve and line.
Her next stay involves the Sunflower Fields, a heart-warming, spirit-lifting rest stop. There, she cascades crystal illuminating flowers around her square neck fluid silk tulle corset dress, creating a sensual, yet luxurious look. Arriving at the Flower Fields, she witnesses a rainbow of beautiful ranunculus flowers, and stands out in a tattoo effect silk tulle dress – draped with a dramatic taffeta overskirt –subtly revealing her voluptuous silhouette.
From the Canola Flower Fields, to the Agassiz Tulip Festival, and Provence’s lavender route– the Zuhair Murad bride gathers an assortment of multi-tone florets and scatters them on sculptural gowns adorned with dramatic cape sleeves. They all bloom with exquisite crystal embroideries and shimmering pearls over silk tulle and pleated silk.
All through the voyage, romanticism and lightness are at the core of this season’s dresses, with gentle colours of off-white, soft peach, grey lilac, pale green and light ivory dominating the collection. Through timeless silhouettes, modernity and glamour evolve on soft flows of Chantilly lace or multiple ruffles. Embellishments delicately shower guipure, faille, printed organza and fil coupé, and, convey a message of hope, tranquility and serenity.
