THE BEGINNING
Alayn and I met back in 2015 in Las Vegas! We were both there for an event called summer splash with our close friends. Both our group of friends partied together for the whole week! Little did we know we were both from Miami and only lived 10 miles away from each other. Once we got back to Miami, we started hanging out a lot and one thing led to another. He’s truly a great partner supported me through one of the hardest times in my life…nursing school! Soon, we discovered the joy of sharing not only our lives but also unforgettable moments such as traveling and exploring the world together. What happens in Vegas does not always stay in Vegas!!!
FINDING THE GALIA LAHAV GOWN
I went dress shopping with my best friend and mom. We first went to a bridal shop in Coral Gables that every Miami girl goes to. I tried on a few dresses of this one designer I thought I loved. However, I wasn’t 100% satisfied.
We then called the Galia Lahav the design district location in Miami and they told us they had a truck show going on the following week. They were able to provide us with an appointment even though it was super last minute. We then went the following week and as soon as we walked in, we were instantly greeted with champagne everyone was extremely sweet! I tried on many dresses but as soon as I tried on the Nadia gown, I knew it was the one.
The only thing I wasn’t 100% about was the colour. But after speaking to my sale associate, she advised me that I could change it to an ivory colour. Since it was a trunk show the dress, they had was only in nude. If I decide to get the dress and change it to ivory, I won’t be able to see it until my dress arrived 11 months later. When I got the call that my dress had arrived, I was so nervous but once I saw it in ivory, I fell more in love with it!!! It was literally the wedding dress of my dreams.
ABOUT GALIA LAHAV’S ‘NADIA’ GOWN
A fitting mermaid gown, made of 3D sparkly lace, it features a cinched waist corset top and a dramatic cutout that continues to the back with long semi-sheer train. Nadia also includes glamorous and embellished off-shoulder-gloves.
THE WEDDING DAY
My wedding day lives rent free in my head! I had so many special details that I loved! The views in my wedding venue were breathtaking. A Tuscan inspired venue in Sonoma California surrounded by mountains and vineyards. Our seating chart was a hit. It stated “from coast to coast with all the people we love the most” since everyone traveled from the east coast (Miami) to the west coast (California).
We had champagne being passed around as our wedding guests arrived with live music playing. Our signature drinks were spicy margarita and a New York sour. We couldn’t forget our fur babies they were all over our wedding, from the cocktail napkins to our wedding cake! We also had film camera on each table so we can get pictures from our guest point of view.
We cannot forget our custom green flanigans cups! (Flanigans is a popular sports bar only located in south Florida. Our food was also a hit everyone could not stop bragging about it. We hired a very popular catering company in Sonoma called The girl and the fig.
