DIOR MAISON CRUISE 2021
Dior Maison has introduced a seasonal collection inspired by Dior’s Cruise 2021 silhouettes.
A joyful collection informed by tarots and wildflowers, an ode to the luminous spirit of Puglia. Here, a closer look at irresistible creations that sublimate interiors with a touch of magic.
“The Sun,” “The Wheel of Fortune,” “Force,” “The Star”: Punctuating delicate earthenware plates, these messages, like precious adages, poetically revisit the tarot cards that so fascinated Monsieur Dior. Inspired by Maria Grazia Chiuri’s 2021 Cruise silhouettes and designs by Agostino Branca, this collection celebrates the cultural diversity of southern Italy and the beauty of Puglia’s wildflowers. It is a tribute to a land close to Maria Grazia Chiuri’s heart: the Creative Director of Dior’s women’s collections sees the region as a summer landscape where nature’s splendour reigns supreme.
Prolonging this rural essence, a series of glasses, mugs, bowls, tablecloths and hand-woven placemats enrich a sun-kissed line decorated with subtle foliate motifs and signed “Christian Dior.” A generous, warmhearted approach that exalts the power of sharing, transmission and “taking care.”
As a final surprise, designer Sam Baron created candleholders, cloches and vases especially for Dior Maison, including one decorated, on the inside, with an ear of wheat in blown glass. A contemporary interpretation that affirms and amplifies the beauty of the gesture. This love of tradition and the plurality of savoir-faire, united with the virtuosity of the Dior lifestyle, seals, more than ever, the steadfast ties between the House and Italy. A passion cultivated by the founding couturier himself, who had a boundless admiration for the myriad charms of the Mediterranean basin, its colours, enchanting scents and incomparable light.
A bucolic invitation to (re)create – at home – a haven of peace and convivial refinement.
