THE ARTISTRY OF FLOWERS
Floral designer Gabriela Salazar presents her first book, The Artistry of Flowers: Florals Designs by La Musa de las Flores published by Rizzoli a blossoming inspiration to awaken your creativity in the process of designing floral arrangements providing gardening tips.
BACKGROUND
Gabriela Salazar is originally from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, flowers and art have been in her life since her childhood. Both her mother and grandmother are nature artists and have a fond love for plants, gardening and flowers. She recalls visiting her grandmother’s house in Mexico City every summer where she had her first experience with painting still life florals and plants, her grandmother was determined to teach her. Later in her life, Gabriela studied Interior design and a Master’s degree at the Inchbald School of Design in London. As a final project, she wrote about the way we inhabit places and that moment when they actually become ours with the central focus on how plants and flowers have a special role in the process filling our living space with life changing the atmosphere and its vibration. For almost a decade she has been growing her own flower garden and she travels the world teaching at workshops.
THE BOOK

Drawing on her painting background, she looks at floral arrangements as compositions. She highlights which type of blooms are best for different designs and shares methods to consider for floral designs that range from simple and sculptural to complex and colourful arrangements. How to be use colour, create movement, consider texture, layering Ideas for any mood and different type of décor including special occasions like bridal showers and weddings to birthday celebrations and baby showers.
