Vivienne Westwood’s bridal show at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week presented as the brand guest of honour at the emblematic Barcelona Bridal Night was a bold celebration of rebellion, romance, and the enduring spirit of its legendary founder.

Staying true to Vivienne Westwood‘s punk roots and defiant elegance, the 2026 bridal collection under the creative direction of her late husband, Andreas Kronthaler, fused avant-garde tailoring with subversive charm, reminding us that bridal fashion doesn’t have to follow the rules. Each look walked the line between tradition and anarchy, capturing the fearless creativity and independent spirit that defined Vivienne herself.
Attendees admired Vivienne Westwood’s 2026 bridal collection’s 35 looks, as the British power fashion house is the guest of honour at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week. Presented in the historic cloister of the 19th century Universitat de Barcelona in the emblematic Barcelona Bridal Night.
Andreas Kronthaler commented: “Bridal has always been an important part of the house since I started working with Vivienne in the early 90’s. We are delighted to be showing our first bridal show here in this fantastic city; we took the grandeur of the boulevards and architecture as our first point of inspiration”, he added ” The collection is a pot pourri of past, present and future. Corsetry is the foundation; it enhances you and gives you presence. And tailoring adds a masculine flair”.
The first look worn by top iconic model Simonetta Gianfelici (below) enhanced wide hips and its embellished lace details gave the sense as if she was a Spanish queen wondering around her castle. Kronthaler said the dress was inspired by François Boucher’s painting Madame de Pompadour from 1759, “It was Vivienne’s favourite dress of all time” he commented.
The following looks showcased more punk attitude, special nods to traditional bridal was included like the ‘something blue’ and ‘something borrowed’. The bridal looks were accessorized with pink glasses, neckties, playful handbags, avant-garde headpieces, ankle boots, gloves, layered pearl necklaces, veils and capes. Splashes of colour: pink and orange were implemented as a “symbol of purity and beauty” Kronthaler added.
Vivienne Westwood’s rock-couture style was perfectly executed in every single look.
