BEST OF THE GOLDEN GLOBES
While there were many fabulous moments at the 81st edition of the Golden Globes, the fashion and beauty seen at the red carpet marks for many an inspiration for Brides (and grooms), these are our Fashion editor’s favourite picks.
Black was in fact the preferred colour, metallics were also predominant, while daring shimmers and delicate florals or bows accents were also the winners of the night. – Claudia Torres, Fashion editor.
GUCCI
VIP’s looked flawless in Sabato De Sarno’s debut for Gucci, including menswear. Ryan Gosling who looked dashing in a custom black wool suit and shirt with white piping and black leather lace-ups shoes, (Grooms, take note).
Mark Ronson, nominated for best original song “Dance the Night” and “I’am Just Ken” wore a custom black wool tuxedo with gold round interlocking G button detail, black shirt and Gucci Horsebit black leather loafers while Grace Gummer wore a Gucci custom black silk gown with chiffon cape and Horsebit detail.
Presenter Julia Garner emanated goddess vibes in a silver Gucci custom all over sequins and strass embroidered gown. Taylor Swift enhanced her natural beauty wearing a green Gucci custom all over sequin embroidered gown.
DIOR
Dior Couture made an everlasting mesmerizing impression, Natalie Portman breathtaking tulle gown embroidered with an impressionist landscape of micro-flowers and vermicelli, emanated her very own Miss Dior look an elegant bridal inspiration. Rosamund Pike was mesmerizing vision in a black gown intricately adorned with notes of sheer texture and floral details composed in a ‘tattoo’ effect on black mesh, paired with a bird cage hat. Both dresses designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri.
Ali Wong, winner of the Best Performance by a female actor in a limited series graced the red carpet wearing a long, draped ecru silk white crepe dress, an elegant silhouette held by a braid in the back, this is totally an inspiration for the modern bride!
The winner of Best Supporting Actress, Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki portrayed her beauty wearing a couture gown from Dior’s A/W 2023-24 collection. A tulle dress adorned with antique silver discs held in place with tarnish silver threads. She dazzled her Dior dress with Bois de Rose and Rose Dior Bagatelle jewellery in white gold and diamonds.
Jennifer Lawrence radiated the classic Hollywood glamour in a custom made Dior couture, long navy blue velvet dress combined the sumptuous feel of velvet with a chic, timeless design showcasing the mastery of Dior Savoir Faire in sculpting the fabric to form.
All dresses were designed by Dior’s artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri.
FENDI
From left to right: American actress Christina Ricci, 2024 Globes’ nominated as Best Performance by a Female Actress in a Supporting role in Television for “Yellowjackets” chose a Fendi Couture AW23 tulle dress with all-over hand appliqué embroidery of glass bugles, beads and crystal stones.
Greta Gerwig whose movie ‘Barbie’ received the Golden Globe Award for Cinematic and box office achievement, wore a sculptural black silk duchesse dress with matching gloves, inspired by the Fendi Couture AW2023 Collection.
Naomi Watts look radiant wearing a Fendi Couture AW23, the one shoulder dress is made of satin lame and embellished with all-over embroidery.
